The original five X-Men, pulled forward in time from the 1960s, stuck in a present that went badly wrong, and being mentored by Magneto.
The hook is the teenagers knowing what they eventually become and deciding they would rather not. The Magneto arrangement is the more interesting half, since nobody in the book trusts it and the comic never fully resolves whether they should.
Requires more continuity than a first volume ideally should.
