A circus that appears without warning and opens only at night, which is the frame for a duel between two magicians who did not choose to be in it.
The atmosphere is the product. Black and white tents, a clock, a bonfire, scent and texture described at length. The plot is thin by comparison and the competition never has real stakes attached to it until very late.
Worth it for the setting rather than the story. Read September 2013.
