Cleanup. Book five broke the solar system and this one handles the war that follows.
It is a wider book than its predecessor, cycling through a lot of viewpoints to show a system-wide conflict from every angle. That breadth costs it momentum. After the tight focus of Nemesis Games it feels diffuse.
Necessary rather than thrilling, which is a fair thing for a book to be.
